Drug addiction in all parts of the world is a major problem that destroyed lives, businesses, families and friendship. While a lot of people are against this kind of thing, the sad truth is only a few people can really distinguish someone you know is having this kind of difficulty in his life due to a lot of factors. One reason is because of too much love that you simply cannot accept the fact that a person is having drug addiction and you become blind to all the symptoms of this predicament. We all must realize that with drug addiction, all of us lose even if we are not directly affected by it. In reality, drug abuse and drug addiction cost Americans over $484 billion per annum. This figure includes healthcare costs (plus the continuing abuses of that system), lost job wages, traffic accidents, crime and the associated criminal justice system costs. Another fact is that drug use and addiction are linked to at least half of the major crimes in the country of America alone, as at least half of the suspects arrested for violent crimes, such as killing and assault, were under the influence of drugs when they were arrested.

Drug addiction treatment is actually attainable if only people would be more vigilant about it. The fact that there are thousands of drug addiction treatment centers around the world is already a proof that there are a lot of people that are more than willing to help you or your love ones to get through this trying time of life. There should be a treatment rehabilitation center in every city and specialty, depending on the type of addiction, age, gender and status in life. The willingness of friends and family of the drug victim to bring them in to this kind of facility only shows the victim that there are definitely a lot of people that love them. Sometimes, just by showing up in the intervention, it already gives a great impact to the drug victim to be able to make him realize that what he is doing is wrong but people still have that passion towards them.

The main important thing for an intervention to work is to make sure that every single person attending it would have concrete decision on it and not be too weak on every possibility. Remember that drug victims will never admit their mistakes immediately so be prepared emotionally, mentally and even physically.
