Uncontrollable Urge
A lot of people may be struggling from drug addiction. We have known many celebrities who battled through this crisis. To name some of the few, Robert Downey, Jr., Kate Moss, Ray Charles, Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore, and Colin Farrel are just some of the hot names when it comes to this form addiction. The latest and most controversial is Lindsay Lohan who has suffered and gone through drug recovery program for about three times. She was admitted into therapy and she has even undergone a meth treatment program. Recent news is that she was sentenced to prison from failing to complete the treatment.
A cause for this is the influence of friends. People who are fragile are most at risk to be a drug addict. Too much emotional stress, inability to handle crisis, depression, and loneliness can trigger a person resort to taking these illegal drugs. This problem is not easy to face alone that is why the support of family and friends is very important.
Drug addiction is an impulsive or uncontrollable urge to take a drug. It is a self destructive behaviour that is why it should be brought to an end. The person may experience headache, overwhelming depression, inability to sleep, tension and his solution to resolve it is by taking the drug. Most drugs that are abused have effects of euphoria, inability to think clearly, dizziness, unsound judgement, and uncontrolled behaviour. Repeated use causes a craving that is hard to have power over. It also serves as an escape from the reality in order to cover up the feeling of grief. The family and friends can notice changes with a person who is drug independent when he neglects obligations, builds disputes with families and loved ones, becomes involves with legal problems. It is never too late to lend a hand to your loved ones if they become involved in this kind of situation. Find a drug rehabilitation center which has a good drug recovery program to get professional help that they need.
Going for 12
There have been a lot of rehabilitation centers that popped out all over the world and while it isn’t a bad thing, the worry is that not all of them would give proper system of rehabilitation to the patients. The normal and proven effective way of rehabilitation is through a 12 step program. It is a set of guiding ideology outlining a course of action for recuperation and healing from any form of addiction to substance, compulsion, or any behavioral dilemma. The process was initially proposed by Alcoholics Anonymous as a technique of recovery from of course, alcoholism, but due to its high turnouts, the method was adapted and became the most reliable method of other rehabilitation programs. On this note, any non 12 step rehab could prove to be very risky to patients, especially if a patient is already in the advanced stage of addiction. Hillbilly heroin, for example, is a substance that people get addicted to these days and it is a difficult addiction to get away from due to the uncanny detoxification that a patient would suffer from, making them want to go back for more. A rehab from hillbilly heroin, which is known as oxycontin rehab, can be really crucial and a shorter rehabilitation process cannot simply claim that it can and will release a patient from his bond from this substance because it simply cannot work that way. If you have a loved one experiencing any form of imbalance in his or her life, the last thing that you would want to do is to risk it all on something that may be incomplete and futile.
