A new study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse reveals that teens in the US are abusing illegal drugs, like marijuana, less, but abuse of legal prescription drugs is rising. It was found out that American teens’ use of illegal drugs has fallen more than 23 percent since 2001, and underage use of alcohol and cigarettes has similarly declined. This is good news; however, the increase of abuse of prescription and over-the-counter medications are quite alarming. The statistics show that nearly one out of 10 high school seniors are using Vicodin without prescriptions, while roughly one in 20 said they had used Oxycontin without a prescription. At this point, people need to be more vigilant regarding their children’s activities. We do not need to be overly protective with our young ones but at least, know what they are doing every day. If you found out they are using prescription drugs that they do not need, never hesitate to seek help. You can try checking Alta Mira Recovery Programs and see what they have that can help your kids. This San Francisco drug rehab facility can boost up confidence and SF drug statistics show that the help would always need to come from family and loved ones to make it a success.

Addiction to any substance is a major health hazard that every one of us should prevent from happening. I personally know a few people who were hooked up into it and I tell you what, there was never a single good effect that drug addiction brought to these people. However, it is not always easy as some people would tend to get weak during trying times. Most would be going for a light drink that would turn into an addiction while for the more extreme case they would turn to drugs for the temporary relief. When this happens, failure happens. Drug addiction treatment is not impossible to have, as well as alcohol addiction treatment. All you need to do is to make sure you have people to help you because this kind of problem is not exactly something that you can do through self medication. Letting your family know will be the best first step to take when dealing with this kind of problem. One thing that you need, though, especially when you already started or ended treatment is to make sure to continue counseling. The best thing that you could do for yourself is to continue counseling outside of the addiction treatment center. Your therapists and counselors will be the main ones to keep you right on track in your recovery efforts. Another is to keep yourself occupied with other things. Remember that the reason why you turned to substance in the first place is because of the feeling of loneness and nothing else to rely on. If you have something else occupying your mind, the need to go back to your old ways will be buried. Lastly, you should never give up because nobody else would believe in you if you do not believe yourself that you can do it.

The cases of youth drug abuse has been growing in the past few years according to some teen drug rehab resources and articles that I’ve read this morning. This should be a cause for alarm in the international community. Being a part of the society, as soon as we get to know someone who is addicted to drugs, we should immediately take action and have them checked and sent to teen addiction treatment facilities. Actually, drug abuse is a disease which causes a significant change in a person’s behavior. It can also cause other diseases such as stroke and other heart diseases.

Another common disease that drug abuse causes is depression which may eventually lead to suicide or some other behavior where a person could inflict pain or violence to other people. In treatment centers, patients are taught how to control themselves and they make the patients realize that this could cause danger to themselves or to other people around him. Drug abusers think that taking drugs may give them instant relief but they don’t realize the damage and permanent dangers of drug abuse.

It is hard to quit once you have started using drugs. You may first take it because of curiosity, you want to belong in a group or you just want to escape reality. Because of the pleasure derived from it you repeatedly use drugs until you become hooked. Though every drug abuser has his own reason why he has formed this addiction, no matter how worse the situation is, it is not justifiable to have this habit. Drug addiction is a threat to an individual, family and also the society. Each medication has an effect to the body for example downers like Valium can make a person sluggish or may have a drunken behaviour, hallucinogens like mescaline and magic mushrooms changes one’s mood and perception, stimulants or amphetamine like Desoxyn has an effect of being always active or awake, cocaine is a stimulant and smoking pot or marijuana alters your thinking. Almost all of these addictive drugs have an effect on the mental status of a person that is why they are unable to do make reasonable decisions there may also be self-care deficit, cardiovascular problems and suicide. The family also carries the burden when one of the members is addicted to drugs. He/ she can have an abusive behaviour therefore affecting the people around him/her. One common consequence is having marital problems, violence, lost of work leading to unabling him to support the family financially, etc. The society should take its toll with this problem since it can influence work productivity, crime rates and safety of other people. Since it causes several problems, people should recognize behaviours that lead to addiction. The best thing they can do is to give support by bringing them to treatment programs like Florida Rehabilitation. Most states have their own facilities like Florida Drug Rehab to help people who have lost their way and want to improve their lives. Though it may be hard to combat this illness, there is still hope to overcome this problem.

At present times, the youth today likes to experiment and some even try to get a hand of what is illegal like drugs or they indulge themselves in alcohol drinking. Some people use it to have a short term fix for their problems and escape reality. Others may do it because of curiosity. At first they do it for curiosities sake then it increases in frequency until it gets out of bounds and it becomes a habit. Drugs and alcohol are very addicting and habit forming. For the person using it, they become powerless to avoid these substances. The continuous use of alcohol and drugs affects health and it can make you self- destructive. It can affect your work and relationships and it can even put you in trouble because it can cause a person not to think rightly.

It may be hard to face addiction problems but the best way to resolve it is by going to rehabilitation facilities. A friend of mine who has gone to alcohol rehab in California said that it was a life changing experience for him. Whether you are going to alcohol programs or have heroin rehab options, you should first have drug rehab info and review the facilities. Drug treatments can help you and your love ones to face and resolve this problem.

Compared to anorexia, bulimia is harder to detect. You can even see bulimic persons eating normally or even overeating. They are not able to control themselves from eating but after that they feel depressed and they are compelled to excrete everything that they have eaten. Anorexic persons eat little amounts or they starve themselves. You can physically see the drastic weight lose. For bulimics, though they have the ideal weight it does not mean that their habits of forcing themselves to vomit and taking laxatives are healthy. It can cause adverse effect to the body.

If you suspect that a friend or family member has this eating disorder, you have to observe closely his/her behaviour. Better know and recognize the symptoms so that you can bring them to bulimia treatment centers. Enrolling them to mental health treatment programs will be a big help to improve their quality of life. Aside from the physical condition, the psychological aspect of a person should also be treated. This is to improve their mental health status so that he/she can perceive the right body image therefore they will understand the negative effects and discontinue their bad habits. Aside from getting professional help, their friends and families are the best resources for these patients. They need the support from their loved ones in order to overcome this illness.

There have been a lot of rehabilitation centers that popped out all over the world and while it isn’t a bad thing, the worry is that not all of them would give proper system of rehabilitation to the patients. The normal and proven effective way of rehabilitation is through a 12 step program. It is a set of guiding ideology outlining a course of action for recuperation and healing from any form of addiction to substance, compulsion, or any behavioral dilemma. The process was initially proposed by Alcoholics Anonymous as a technique of recovery from of course, alcoholism, but due to its high turnouts, the method was adapted and became the most reliable method of other rehabilitation programs. On this note, any non 12 step rehab could prove to be very risky to patients, especially if a patient is already in the advanced stage of addiction. Hillbilly heroin, for example, is a substance that people get addicted to these days and it is a difficult addiction to get away from due to the uncanny detoxification that a patient would suffer from, making them want to go back for more. A rehab from hillbilly heroin, which is known as oxycontin rehab, can be really crucial and a shorter rehabilitation process cannot simply claim that it can and will release a patient from his bond from this substance because it simply cannot work that way. If you have a loved one experiencing any form of imbalance in his or her life, the last thing that you would want to do is to risk it all on something that may be incomplete and futile.

Drug addiction in all parts of the world is a major problem that destroyed lives, businesses, families and friendship. While a lot of people are against this kind of thing, the sad truth is only a few people can really distinguish someone you know is having this kind of difficulty in his life due to a lot of factors. One reason is because of too much love that you simply cannot accept the fact that a person is having drug addiction and you become blind to all the symptoms of this predicament. We all must realize that with drug addiction, all of us lose even if we are not directly affected by it. In reality, drug abuse and drug addiction cost Americans over $484 billion per annum. This figure includes healthcare costs (plus the continuing abuses of that system), lost job wages, traffic accidents, crime and the associated criminal justice system costs. Another fact is that drug use and addiction are linked to at least half of the major crimes in the country of America alone, as at least half of the suspects arrested for violent crimes, such as killing and assault, were under the influence of drugs when they were arrested.

Drug addiction treatment is actually attainable if only people would be more vigilant about it. The fact that there are thousands of drug addiction treatment centers around the world is already a proof that there are a lot of people that are more than willing to help you or your love ones to get through this trying time of life. There should be a treatment rehabilitation center in every city and specialty, depending on the type of addiction, age, gender and status in life. The willingness of friends and family of the drug victim to bring them in to this kind of facility only shows the victim that there are definitely a lot of people that love them. Sometimes, just by showing up in the intervention, it already gives a great impact to the drug victim to be able to make him realize that what he is doing is wrong but people still have that passion towards them.

The main important thing for an intervention to work is to make sure that every single person attending it would have concrete decision on it and not be too weak on every possibility. Remember that drug victims will never admit their mistakes immediately so be prepared emotionally, mentally and even physically.

With all the complexities and the stress of this modern and fast pace world, no one is indispensable to mental and health problems. The stress can sometimes be intoxicating and if not dealt with properly can lead to more serious depression. This generation has also produced a lot of troubled teens, a product of domestic problems, environmental factors etc. We can hear suicide events in the news especially in East Asian part specifically Japan and Korea. Media would say a lot of reasons, but the problem still unsolved. I guess some western countries are more fortunate to have a more open society; they don’t stereotype people going to shrinks. There’s more teen rehab to help deal with the issue and even ADHD schools for teens. Recent research found out that processed food can also add up to more stress and depression but for the record these people in this area are very health conscious. One of them even holds the highest life expectancy on earth, so there must be another reason. As an educator I can tell that one of the problem is too much pressure; both from family and friends. I hope authorities and concerned individuals can find the solution to this problem or else we could be losing our future leaders.

There have been some statistics where it shows that more than seventeen thousand people die each year because of car accidents that are alcohol related. The results are of course really shocking because if these people would just think wisely, they could have prevented such accidents that resulted to people dying, including those innocent bystanders. Although, for most of these people, it just can’t be helped because they are simply slaves of alcohol. Alcoholism is of course, a kind of sickness/addiction where a person becomes dependent to any types of alcohol, which have been recorded to ruin a lot of families all across the world. There are, however, good souls that would really give their time to make sure that these people that lost their ways would have proper guidance. I heard that one of the best alcohol rehab center can be found in Canyon Malibu, California because their alcohol treatment are state of the art and they will truly care for the patients. Of course, if you know anyone who is suffering from this condition, the other rehabilitation centers will do just fine. Just make sure that they are properly taken care of and the doctors would certainly care for the patients.
