Preterm Birth

Author: One of the latest health news that I read in BBC today is that they have found a new way to “stop” premature birth. The answer is a drug used to treat cancer, Trichostatin A. The researchers are from the Newcastle University in England. Preterm labor or premature birth is also known to be one of the causes of infant death in the world. It’s hard to tell what the causes of preterm birth are but I guess all of these have something to do with the mother’s background. My sister had experienced preterm birth with her daughter, luckily the baby was strong and healthy and there was no need for incubation. My sister never really had a problem during that time, aside from early contractions. It was also a must that every pregnancy must be monitored and vitamins are taken by the mother to ensure the health of both mom and the fetus is in good hands.
